Terms and conditions.

1. General

Freeride Kosovo LLC organises and operates guided mountain experiences including freeride skiing, ski touring, splitboarding, telemark skiing and cat-skiing programmes in remote and uncontrolled mountain terrain.

In these terms, “skiing” covers all forms of snow-based mountain travel: freeride skiing, snowboarding, telemark, ski touring, splitboarding and cat-skiing. All activities take place in natural environments that are not controlled, marked or patrolled. Taking part in any activity means you accept these terms in full.

2. Registration and agreement

A binding agreement is formed when you submit a booking request or registration form and we receive a deposit or full payment. The agreement covers the booking confirmation, the programme itinerary and details, the pricing with its inclusions and exclusions, and these terms. You confirm that you have read and accepted all of those documents before booking.

3. Pricing

• All prices are in euro.
• Prices are based on operational and logistical costs.
• Prices may change before a booking is confirmed. Once confirmed, the agreed price is fixed.

We reserve the right to correct pricing or administrative errors.

4. Deposits, payments and deadlines

• A non-refundable deposit, normally 30%, secures a booking.
• The balance must be paid at least 60 days before the start date.
• Bookings made within 60 days of the start date require full payment at confirmation.

Missing a payment deadline may result in cancellation of the booking and loss of all amounts paid. Bank and transaction fees are yours.

5. Refunds

All programmes are sold as complete packages. No refund, partial or full, is issued for:

• Late arrival or early departure
• Missed flights or travel delays
• Lost or damaged travel documents
• Loss or damage of personal equipment
• Illness or injury
• Insufficient ability or physical condition
• Weather or snow conditions
• Any circumstances beyond our control

6. Cancellation by you

• More than 60 days before the start date: you lose the deposit.
• 60 days or less before the start date: 100% of the total is non-refundable.

Cancellations must be submitted in writing and take effect when we receive them. You may transfer your booking to another participant, subject to our approval.

7. Cancellation by us

We reserve the right to cancel or modify any programme for safety concerns, weather and snow instability, operational or logistical constraints, or an insufficient number of participants. In those cases we may offer alternative arrangements, and refunds are considered at our discretion. We are not responsible for additional costs you incur.

8. Snow and avalanche conditions

If there is insufficient snow cover, extremely high avalanche danger or unsafe terrain conditions, we may modify the itinerary, restrict access to certain terrain, replace planned activities or reschedule the programme. Refunds are not guaranteed in these cases.

9. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, avalanches, extreme weather, fire, landslides, flooding, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government restrictions or pandemics. Such events may lead to modification, postponement or cancellation without liability.

10. Weather and mountain conditions

You acknowledge that mountain weather is unpredictable, that snowpack conditions vary continuously and that avalanche risk is dynamic. We do not guarantee powder snow conditions, specific routes or terrain, or a number of runs or vertical descent. All decisions are based on real-time safety assessments.

11. Guide authority

All operational decisions — route and terrain selection, and modifying or cancelling an activity — are at the sole discretion of the guide. You must follow all instructions, respect safety protocols and maintain proper group behaviour. Failure to comply may result in exclusion from the programme without refund.

12. Cat-skiing operations

Cat-skiing takes place in remote, uncontrolled terrain. You acknowledge that weather, visibility and snow stability directly affect operations, that mechanical or environmental limitations may occur, that daily plans may be adjusted on safety grounds, and that evacuation and emergency response may be delayed by terrain and conditions.

We aim to provide a minimum of 2,500 vertical metres of descent per day under normal operating conditions. That target may be reduced in extreme weather, poor visibility, elevated avalanche risk, or any circumstance that compromises operational safety. Those decisions rest with the guide and the company, and safety takes absolute priority over performance.

13. Assumption of risk

Mountain activities carry inherent risks, including avalanches (natural or human-triggered), falls, collisions and injuries, rocks, cliffs, tree wells and hidden obstacles, equipment failure, extreme and rapidly changing weather, altitude-related conditions, and delayed rescue or evacuation.

You acknowledge that not all risks can be predicted or avoided and that the terrain is uncontrolled and unmarked. You voluntarily accept all associated risks.

14. Insurance

You must hold valid insurance covering mountain rescue, emergency medical treatment, off-piste and backcountry skiing, and helicopter evacuation. We are not responsible for any related costs.

15. Equipment

Safety equipment may be provided — avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe and airbag. You must use it correctly, and loss or damage must be compensated. Your personal equipment must be technically functional and suitable for backcountry conditions.

16. Health and fitness

You must be in adequate physical condition, possess appropriate technical ability, and disclose relevant medical conditions. We reserve the right to refuse participation where safety would be compromised.

17. Travel documents

You are responsible for valid travel documents, visas and compliance with regulations.

18. Liability

The company, its guides and its staff are not liable for personal injury or death, loss or damage of personal belongings, delays or disruptions, or rescue and evacuation costs. Participation is entirely at your own risk.

19. Media

We reserve the right to use photos and videos for promotional purposes unless you object in writing.

20. Complaints

Report any issue immediately during the programme. Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 30 days of completion.

21. Governing law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kosovo.
